Social Affairs
The Social Affairs division of the Eritrean Community in Western Australia (ECWA) serves as the heart of community engagement and welfare. It aims to strengthen social bonds among Eritrean Australians through support, outreach, and inclusive community activities that enhance wellbeing and connection.
Community Support & Welfare
- Family Support: Helping new arrivals and families navigate settlement challenges, providing guidance on housing, employment, and local services.
- Social Assistance: Offering emotional, cultural, and practical support to community members facing hardship or isolation.
- Community Outreach: Promoting social inclusion through visits, volunteer outreach, and intergenerational engagement initiatives.
Programs & Events
- Community Gatherings: Organizing cultural events, picnics, and celebrations that bring families together.
- Health and Wellbeing Workshops: Partnering with local services to provide information on mental health, wellness, and healthy living.
- Cultural Preservation Projects: Encouraging traditional Eritrean music, art, and storytelling to keep our heritage alive for future generations.
